Work With Us • Social Media and Content Manager

Social Media and Content Manager.

LocationMumbai, India
Job typeFull time
WorkspaceOn-Site

About the role.

This role runs Panchrome’s social media end to end. There are three parts to it. The thinking: what we should be saying, who we are saying it to, and what a month of posts looks like. The making: writing the captions, and getting the photographs, video and design produced, either yourself or by briefing the people who can. The reading: knowing what worked, what did not, and changing the plan because of it. Instagram is the centre of it, with LinkedIn, Facebook and Reddit alongside.

It is not only social. You would also plan the blog and the customer newsletter: what goes out, when, and what each piece is for. You will have help with the drafting, so what matters most is the plan and the judgment behind it.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan the month: what we post, where, and why.
  • Write captions and copy that sound like us.
  • Get the content made, either by shooting it yourself or by briefing and directing a photographer, videographer or editor.
  • Plan the blog and newsletter schedule: what goes out, when, and what each piece is for.
  • Work with the designer on cards and graphics.
  • Cover launches, workshops and community events.
  • Reply to comments and messages, and keep those conversations going.
  • Track what is working and report on it every month.

Requirements.

Core requirements

  • Two years or more running social media for a brand or a business. Freelance and client work counts.
  • Strong written English, and a voice of your own
  • At least one account you have genuinely run yourself, with the handle
  • An eye for a photograph, and able to say why one works
  • Able to plan ahead rather than post reactively

Technical and practical skills

  • Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and Reddit, including Reels and scheduling tools
  • Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Able to read insights and say what should change because of them
  • Able to shoot and edit short video and do basic photo editing. If you do not do all of that yourself, you must be able to brief a photographer, editor or designer and get back what you asked for.

Mindset and approach

  • Genuinely interested in photography, enough to have opinions about it.
  • Consistent. Posting is a habit, not a burst.
  • Takes feedback and goes again.
  • Works on their own initiative rather than waiting for a brief.

Good to have

  • Shoots film, or wants to learn
  • Comfortable appearing on camera
  • Has run a paid campaign and can say what it returned
  • Can write long form as well as captions
